Right now I am in the process of making some of the biggest decisions in my life. A few weeks ago, I just had to be honest with myself and take a close look at my life. What I saw, I wasn’t completely pleased with, so I chose to do this ONE thing.
I needed to make a decision that would affect my destiny. In fact, it would affect the destiny of others if I decided to do this one thing. Many times in our lives, we have defining moments. Well, I needed one and I had it.
I decided to go after my dreams. God gave me a destiny, purpose, assignment, mission or whatever you want to call it. He wants me to fulfill it for Him. In 1991, I had a dream of becoming a motivational speaker. For over 10 years, I had the opportunity to make this dream come true on a part time basis.
The problem I faced was I didn’t have a clear plan of action. So a few weeks ago, I went to Successmagazine.com and started viewing some of their videos. They were very inspiring and uplifting, but I still didn’t have a plan. The good news was the solution I was looking for was there right in front of me.
I went to Darren Hardy’s blog and discovered he was offering an 8 week course on how to design the best 10 years of your life. So I signed up for the 2 emails a week and began my journey. If I am going to live by my favorite quote, then I’m going to have to do something new.
“When you want something you’ve never had, you’ve got to do something you’ve never done”.
The worksheets Darren has us complete are very eye opening and answers so many questions. Some of them are encouraging, while others cut right to the heart. I am choosing to be honest with myself and make a life change I’ve needed to do for years.
